My Review: Ripley's Believe it or Not, Ripley’s 4D Moving Theater and Louis Tussauds Wax Museum

This is a place I have GOT to share with you guys!

I had the pleasure on my vacation last week to check out Ripley's Believe it or Not & Louis Tussauds Wax Museum in San Antonio. It's located right on the riverwalk and right across from The Alamo. I know quite a few of you live in or near San Antonio, you gotta check this place out. If you don't, you're in luck cause they have them all over the United States!
It was SO much fun.

First, you walk in to Louis Tussauds Wax Museum and it's open and inviting. They have a giant dinosaur that roars to greet you. My son and nephew's LOVED it. Then you see different wax figures that look so much like the real thing; John Cena included ;).

I couldn't believe how real they all looked after we walked in.

Prince William and Kate greet you.

My hubby's favorite lady, Britney Spears!

Then you see a bunch of A-List Celebs greeting you as well.
Oh yes, Lady Gaga and her meat dress!
Thanks to my hubby being goofy with the pictures. :)

What I didn't expect is that you can actually TOUCH THEM! Like you're posing with the real person. They did a great job on detail.

Am I team Edward?

Or team Jacob?

Ellen and I are now BFF's
Not only do they have A-list celebs and royals, they have legends & political figures.
Superman!

My son and Mr. President!

There was really 11 dwarfs.

Then they lead you through all the story book characters. It was so neat! They even had the stories.

As you make your way through you come to this.  It's OPTIONAL. It's pitch dark with strobe lights & doors leading to all your worst nightmares! My 5 year old did it with my husband first. I can't believe it, but he wasn't scared. Then I went. Oh my God. I'm the biggest chicken. On the walls it says, "May be recorded to catch your reaction!" I really hope mine wasn't, cause I run like a 2 year old. You open doors and find people like Jason, waiting for you... Then we came to this. (I took this picture and it was completely dark with only strobes... and I was around the wall after running, screaming. Clowns.)

It isn't a good picture, but can you see why I ran? LOL.
EEK! All and all it was so much fun. Something I would go see again!

Then we went and watched the Ripley's 4D Theater. We did the snow ride. It was beyond what you can find at other places. This actually put snow on us. It was SO neat!

a Mammoth greets you. It's HUGE!
After we finished with that, we headed next door to Ripley's Believe it or Not. I was so surprised. I have watched the show, but this was so much better. Educational and Historical. I was so surprised.

It was a blast teaching my son about all the different things in history, as well as seeing some creepy & cool things!

It was a HUGE place. Did you know that Lee Harvey Oswald, before shooting JFK, often caught rides from his really good friend. He didn't have a license, so his friend always gave him rides. The day he shot JFK his friend gave him a usual ride this time to the Library, but he had something with him that he said was, "curtain rods". After his friend heard what he had done, he was so disgusted he sold his car for $10. This is his car. Crazy, right?

The car that Lee Harvey Oswald rode in to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.

Piece's of the Great Wall
the biggest tire
John Wayne, in cow dung.
Of course, then you have the cool stuff like: 2 pieces of The Great Wall of China, the Biggest tire ever made, the tallest man complete with real video of him and John Wayne painted so beautifully into a piece of cow dung. Ha!

The Tallest Man. Almost 9 foot.

Titanic Coal
I really think out of the whole place, I was most obsessed with their Titanic display.

They had coal from the Titanic and a big replica. Again, with history all over. They even had a place where you stuck your hand down into water that was exactly how cold it was where the Titanic sunk. It was so cold that even after 20 minutes, my hand/arm was still freezing cold.

The amazing Titanic Replica

I would for sure give Ripley's in San Antonio a 10 outta 10. Great staff, great attraction, great adventure.

What would you like to see at Ripleys?

*I was compensated tickets to Ripleys for this review, but this review and my opinions are 100% honest and my own!*

  1. GREAT review! I am nowhere near Texas, but we do have a museum on the Wildwood Boardwalk, which is about 2 hours away. I already went to the shore once this summer and plan on going in the next few weeks. I will DEFINITELY be checking it out. I've always known it was there, but never had the desire to go inside....I do now though!
